Fall Happenings at the Folly

The fall months are a beautiful time to visit Körner’s Folly.  Take advantage of smaller crowds to slow down and savor inspiring views of historic Körner’s Folly.  Plan your visit today!

Fall also brings several exciting events to Körner’s Folly, including the annual Kernersville Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 1 (4-7pm) and savor pumpkin spice cupcakes, hand-roasted beer flavored nuts, bratwursts hot off the grill, and wash it all down with excellent, local, craft beer. Kernersville Oktoberfest is our annual beer and wine tasting fundraiser in the spirit of a German Oktoberfest. Tickets for Oktoberfest are now SOLD OUT, please remember this annual event for next year!

In mid-October we invite Junior Girl Scout Troops to join us in “Playing the Past” at Körner’s Folly on Saturday, October 15 (9am – 12pm).  Scouts will learn about Victorian traditions while participating in hands-on activities and earning badge requirements.  Explore the 22 room house museum through the eyes of the Körner children, and play historic games on the lawn.

In November, we will hold a special showing of a new puppet show: Aesop’s Fabulous Fables. Join us in Cupid’s Park Theatre on Saturday, November 19 @ 10:30am to take a trip back to Ancient Greece! This puppet show is a collection of 5 short stories, written by Aesop, that each teach a lesson.

Throughout the month of November, volunteer decorators will be hard at work turning Körner’s Folly into a Victorian Christmas masterpiece.  Be sure to mark your calendar for A Victorian Christmas at Körner’s Folly,  November 25 – December 31. Tours and special events promise visitors of all ages holiday cheer and an unforgettable experience!
