Vintage Market – CANCELED
In light of the most recent public health guidelines from the Governor’s Office, we have decided to cancel the Vintage Market on Saturday, May 30.
We are saddened to miss this opportunity to bring our community together with local artists, craftspeople, and makers, but we remain hopeful about holding this event next spring.
In the meantime, we are still planning on hosting two markets later in the season: the 2nd Annual Christmas in July Market on July 18, 2020 and a fall market on October 31, 2020. For more information about these markets, contact organizer Aixa Maria Haskins at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Historic Körner’s Folly, 413 South Main Street, will host the 2nd Annual Vintage Market on the North Lawn. The market will feature local dealers of handmade wares, vintage clothing and jewelry, retro items, and locally-produced goods. Market is free to attend, paid admission required to tour Körner’s Folly historic house museum.
Körner’s Folly was built by the Kernersville-born Victorian visionary, Jule Körner. It was here that he began his development as an artist, and later was able to share his talents with others as he designed and decorated the Folly. The Körner’s Folly Foundation is pleased to continue his legacy by promoting local artistry, community, and craftsmanship in Kernersville. Tickets to tour the house will be available the day of the event, so visitors can view Körner’s masterpiece.
The Vintage Market is a juried market, requiring vendors to submit examples of their products before being selected by a panel of judges. This market is also curated to provide the best examples of vintage and handmade goods available locally. Direct or third-party sellers are not accepted as vendors. Instead, visitors will have the opportunity to meet and talk with the makers and finders of the products on view, providing a unique experience surrounded by art and local history in downtown Kernersville.
The Vintage Market will have something for the whole family. Tours of the house are fun for all ages, with scavenger hunts available for the young and the young at heart.
Vendor products include vintage and antique items, home decor, hand-painted signage, furniture, crafts in metal, wood, and leather, candles, jewelry, children’s items, fine art, and more! There is literally something for everyone.
