Join us for a romantic evening of music in Cupid’s Park Theatre on the third floor of Körner’s Folly. This special Valentine’s Day concert, presented by the Triad’s folk music society Fiddle & Bow, will feature traditional Celtic music by The New Potatoes (Fred Lail & Mary Mondon) playing on fiddle, button accordion, Irish tin whistle, and bodhran. These talented musicians will bring to life the music that the Körners enjoyed during the Folly’s golden age, while sharing their inspiration, knowledge, and love story.
Tickets are $20/person and include a self-guided tour of historic Körner’s Folly and one drink voucher.
Plan to arrive early and tour the house from 5:30 – 6:00 PM. Concert begins at 6:15; intermission at 7:00 featuring fun parlor games. Light bites and cash bar available. Must be 21+ to attend. Use the form below to purchase tickets.
Cupid’s Park Theatre is located on the third floor of Historic Korner’s Folly, so named by the Körner family because of the hand-painted murals of cupids adorning the walls. Added to the home in 1897, this room making is thought to be one of the first private little theaters in America. The unique architectural design, ingenious acoustics, and stunning murals continue to delight and amaze visitors over 120 years later. Cupid’s Park Theatre is not handicapped accessible at this time.
During the Victorian period, the parlor represented a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, partly to amuse one another and partly to increase the knowledge of guests through conversation. The Victorian Parlor Series reimagines the parlor, as we explore topics related to Historic Körner’s Folly and popular culture of the Victorian era, all while sipping, snacking and socializing.
