Summer Escape Challenge
From June to August 2014, students and families can visit local museums and tourist associations to participate in low-cost programs for some summer fun! Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools is partnering with the Association of Visitor Attractions of Forsyth County to provide thousands of families with a free Summer Escape Challenge kit and passport. The kick-off event will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 10am -2pm at Hanes Mall. At the kick-off event, students and their families can pick up passport kits and begin their summer learning adventures with games, drawings, and prizes! Help us fight summer learning loss and support affordable family fun across Forsyth County this summer!
Visit Körner’s Folly and complete a scavenger hunt or join us the fourth Saturday of the month for our puppet show to earn passport stamps. The Home Grown Arts Festival, July 19th
On Saturday, July 19, join us from 9am-2pm for the Home Grown Arts Festival, hosted by the Kernersville Arts and Crafts Guild. Local artisans will set up on the lawn of Körner’s Folly to showcase and sell their creations. Visit for the festival and stay for a tour of the historic house.
The Kernersville Arts and Crafts Guild is a nonprofit, community-based organization dedicated to helping artists and craftspeople exhibit and sell their work, promote the development of arts and crafts in the community, and support arts and crafts educational activities.
Monthly Puppet Shows all summer long
On the fourth Saturday of every month we host The Körner’s Folly Family Revue Puppet Show @ 10:30am. Puppet Show tickets are FREE when purchasing regular admission on the same day. (Puppet show only: $2) The puppet show is followed by a make and take sock puppet craft. Great for children of all ages!
Education groups of 20 or more can also schedule private puppet show and children’s tours throughout the summer. This is a great educational opportunity for daycares, summer camps, homeschoolers, and private parties. Private puppet shows & children’s tours are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays, minimum 2 week advance notice to schedule. Please call (336) 996-7922 for pricing and scheduling.
