Mr. Lincoln Returns to Körner’s Folly Theater

The Cupids Park Theater at Körner’s Folly will once again welcome President Lincoln in the Lincoln one man play, Mr. Lincoln’s Office, on Saturday, April 18 at 5:00 PM.  Space is limited, advance tickets are required.

The one hour play was presented at Körner’s Folly five years ago and was very well received by the audience. President Lincoln is portrayed by veteran Lincoln actor, Peter Holland, who was nominated in 2008 for a Virginia Governors Arts Award for his interpretation of our sixteenth President.

The play takes place in Mr. Lincoln’s Office in the White House in November of 1863- five short months after the bloody battle of Gettysburg, where thousands of Americans from the North and South were killed. Mr. Lincoln speaks to the audience as if they were visitors to the White House during the Civil War. He relates to them the details of his boyhood, his political career, his struggles during the war, and his hope for all Americans in the future.  Holland’s material as Lincoln is based entirely on the writings of Abraham Lincoln and the testimony of the people who were closest to him- his family and friends.

Holland and his wife, Christina, have their own theatrical touring company, Once Upon a Blue Ridge, that specializes in original, educational shows for family audiences.

After Holland’s presentation as President Lincoln, audience members will have the opportunity to ask the President questions about his life and the Civil War. Picture sessions with the President will also be available- so bring your cameras!

Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children.  To purchase tickets for Mr. Lincoln’s Office, please call (336) 996-7922.
