Preserve Historic Forsyth Mini-Workshop

May 10, 2014 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Event Navigation

In honor of Historic Preservation Month, Preserve Historic Forsyth will be holding a mini-workshop on Masonry & Window Repair on the grounds of Körner’s Folly.

Take the mystery out of masonry repointing and wood window repair at a mini-workshop at Körner’s Folly in Kernersville. Members of the Preserve Historic Forsyth Historic Windows Committee will explain how to repair wood windows’ sash, cords, and weatherstripping.

Hayes Wauford of Wilson-Covington Construction Company will lead a repointing demonstration. Wilson-Covington performed interior and exterior restorations, including masonry repairs to walls and chimneys, arches, and repointing, as part of the award winning “Operation Restoration.” The work involved is some of the most significant work on the home since its construction in 1880.

This event is FREE and open to the public. The first 15 to show up will enjoy free admission to Körner’s Folly immediately following the workshop. Ticketed tours of Korner’s Folly will also be available following the event; purchase tour tickets here.

Check out Preserve Historic Forsyth’s website for more information and to register.
